CAIR-Ohio Hosts Full House at 19th Annual Cincinnati & Dayton Banquet

(MASON, OHIO 10/08/2021) — On Sunday, October 3rd, 2021, the Ohio Chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations held its 19th Annual Cincinnati & Dayton Banquet at Manor House in Mason, Ohio. The CAIR-Ohio annual banquet is an opportunity for staff to address hundreds of attendees including supporters, business leaders, elected officials, and representatives of mosques and community organizations to update them on the work CAIR-Ohio has accomplished in the past year.

Around 450 community members attended Sunday’s banquet with keynote speaker Dr. Yasir Qadhi and spoken word art performed by Amal Kassir. The evening also featured awards for individuals who have made significant contributions through their community service from youth leadership development and civic engagement, religious and educational services, to economic empowerment. Elected officials including U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown, State Senator Steve Wilson, Mayor Whaley of Dayton, Hamilton County Board of Commissioners, Montgomery County Board of Commissioners, Warren County Board of Commissioners, and the Ohio Democratic Caucus submitted proclamations in recognition of CAIR-Ohio’s work. Mayor Kathy Grossmann of Mason attended and presented a proclamation on behalf of the City of Mason and Cincinnati City Council Member Jan-Michele Kearney was there to present a proclamation on behalf of the City of Cincinnati.
