(COLUMBUS, OHIO 10/9/2020) – The Ohio chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-Ohio) has successfully completed twenty Voter Registration Events at local mosques in Columbus, Cincinnati, Dayton, and Toledo as part of the Get Out the Vote efforts in Ohio that began in early September.

CAIR-Ohio staff members and trained volunteers set up tables at twenty different events across local Ohio mosques to register voters. The CAIR-Ohio Voter Registration tables were a one-stop shop for voters to ask questions around how to vote in the 2020 Election, CAIR-Ohio’s election guides were passed out, eligible voters were able to register and pledge to vote in the upcoming election. Eligible voters are often not able to participate in elections because they either miss a deadline or do not know how to register.

“Every eligible voter has the right to cast a ballot in this election. We want to encourage our community to fully participate and make a well-informed choice on how they will be voting this election cycle,” said Amina Barhumi, CAIR-Ohio Outreach Director.

CAIR is America’s largest Muslim civil liberties and advocacy organization. Its mission is to enhance the understanding of Islam, encourage dialogue, protect civil liberties, empower American Muslims, and build coalitions that promote justice and mutual understanding.
