February marks the beginning of Black History Month 2023! Join CAIR-Ohio in celebrating Black Muslim Excellence in America.
Throughout this month, CAIR-Ohio will be honoring notable Black Muslims in America and reflecting on the Civil Rights Movement and its impact, which paved way for a more equal and just society for all marginalized communities.
While honoring Black History Month, it’s important to acknowledge the ongoing reality of systemic racial inequality and anti-Blackness in our society. From police brutality and unequal treatment in the criminal justice system, to voter suppression and censored history education, the fight for racial justice is far from over.
It is important for communities to come together as advocates, activists, allies, and Muslims to take action towards a more just and equal society.
