CAIR-Ohio Files Motion Against Latest Round of Unconstitutional Maps

(COLUMBUS, OHIO 5/11/2022) On Tuesday, May 10, the Ohio Chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-Ohio) and other petitioners in the Ohio Organizing Collaborative v. Ohio Redistricting Commission lawsuit continued fighting back against unconstitutional state legislative maps. The petitioners filed a motion asking the Ohio Supreme Court to reject the latest round of maps and hold the Ohio Redistricting Commission (ORC) in contempt for yet again blatantly violating the constitution and prior rulings.  

Despite having fair maps drawn by independent mapmakers, the ORC decided again last week to approve unconstitutional legislative maps that the Ohio Supreme Court already threw out in March.
