(COLUMBUS, OHIO 3/5/2020) – On Sunday, March 1, the Ohio chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-Ohio) held a “Know Your Rights” workshop at Masjid Al-Madina in Springfield, Ohio.
CAIR-Ohio Executive Director Romin Iqbal educated the audience about their rights at the airport and outlined the signs that would indicate someone is on a secret government watchlist. Iqbal also discussed what parents should do if they find that their child is being bullied in school. Additionally, CAIR-Ohio Government Affairs and Development Director Usjid Hameed informed the attendees about their rights as voters and activists.
CAIR-Ohio has published “Know Your Rights” materials online in English, Arabic, Somali, Urdu, Farsi, Bengali, and Bosnian. The multi-language civil rights materials can be found here and may be printed out for personal use or for distribution at local events.
