(COLUMBUS, OHIO 12/06/2021) — On Friday, Dec. 3, the Ohio Chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-Ohio) hosted an advocacy workshop for the Muslim Student Association at The Ohio State University.
Maryam Abidi, CAIR-Ohio Staff Attorney, facilitated a series of discussions on advocacy and activism with Muslim students and organizers. Participants reflected on their experiences advocating for accommodations on campus, fighting for justice in Palestine, and developing story-telling opportunities for marginalized communities. Through collaborative and guided discussions, participants were better equipped with the resources and skills to advocate for themselves and others in the Muslim community.
CAIR-Ohio has “Know Your Rights” materials in multiple languages, available here.
